Recommended: BuilderWritingPlanning

Best for

  • Anyone presenting to leadership or clients
  • Team leads preparing a monthly review
  • People who know the content but struggle with structure

What you need

  • An AI assistant
  • Your rough notes, data points and ideas
  • The audience, time limit and the decision you want

Starter prompt

Copy it, fill in the parts in square brackets, and paste it into the AI assistant your organisation allows.

I am presenting to [audience] for [minutes] minutes. The decision or reaction I want is: [goal]. Turn my notes below into a slide outline of no more than [number] slides. For each slide give: a headline that states the point as a full sentence, three supporting bullets, a suggested visual (chart, table or image), and two lines of speaker notes. Put the recommendation on slide 2, not at the end. Use only facts from my notes and mark gaps as [need data]. Notes: [paste]

How to use it

  1. 1.Dump your notes

  2. 2.Set audience and goal

  3. 3.Tighten the story

  4. 4.Build the slides

  1. 1

    Dump your notes

Paste everything you have, in any order. Include numbers you plan to show.

  2. 2

    Set audience and goal

Fill in the audience, time and the decision you want. This shapes the whole story.

  3. 3

    Tighten the story

Read only the headlines in order. If they do not make the argument on their own, ask the assistant to rework them.

  4. 4

    Build the slides

Fill every [need data] with real figures, then build the slides in your usual tool.

Watch out. The assistant may round, reword or invent supporting numbers. Check every figure against your source data before it goes on a slide.

What you end up with

A slide-by-slide outline with clear headlines and speaker notes, ready to build.
