Recommended: BuilderWritingCompliance

Best for

  • Recruiters opening several roles a month
  • Hiring managers writing their first JD
  • Startups without a dedicated HR writer

What you need

  • An AI assistant
  • The hiring manager's notes on the role
  • Your company's standard benefits and policy text

Starter prompt

Copy it, fill in the parts in square brackets, and paste it into the AI assistant your organisation allows.

Write a job description for a [role title] at [company], based in [city] with [work mode]. Use the hiring manager's notes below. Structure: about the role, what you will do, what you need, good to have, what we offer, and how to apply. Keep 'what you need' to the essentials only. Avoid gendered words, age limits, unnecessary degree requirements and jargon. Use plain Indian English. After the JD, list any requirement in the notes that could unfairly exclude good candidates, and why. Notes: [paste notes]. Benefits: [paste benefits].

How to use it

  1. 1.Get the real needs

  2. 2.Draft the JD

  3. 3.Check policy fit

  4. 4.Save the template

  1. 1

    Get the real needs

Ask the hiring manager for the must-have skills and the first three months of work. Leave out any names or details of current employees.

  2. 2

    Draft the JD

Run the prompt and read the list of possibly exclusionary requirements. Discuss them with the hiring manager.

  3. 3

    Check policy fit

Compare pay, benefits and location text with your approved policy wording. Correct anything the assistant paraphrased.

  4. 4

    Save the template

Keep the prompt with placeholders so every future JD follows the same structure.

Watch out. Do not paste employee or candidate personal data into the assistant, and use only tools your organisation has approved. HR must sign off the final text before it is posted.

What you end up with

A fair, readable job description and a reusable template for the next role.
